I just love staying at home with my boys. I haven't worked since October of 2008. I was pregnant with Jaben at the time. He is two and a half years old now. I am so thankful to be able to stay at home with them. I just love having them with me all the time and I miss Jaben when he is at his Mother's Day Out program. It is really good for him and he loves it, but I sure do love having him with me when he is home too.
All that to say, life is so busy. It seems to just keep getting busier. Goodness. It is so easy to let that busyness sneak into my boys life too. If I wanted too, I feel like I could have my boys doing something and going somewhere everyday. Right now, Jaben attends school Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 to 2:30 and then he was also going to Bible Study with me on Wednesday for two hours.
I had contemplated whether this would be too much for him or not, but thought I would give it a go. Jaben has so much fun at school on Tuesday, that by the time I am rushing him out the door on Wednesday, he is so tired. I kept taking him on Wednesday for five weeks. This past week I decided that was too much for him. He told me he didn't want to go anymore. He wanted to stay home. Bless his heart. I didn't realize how much I was imposing my schedule on him.
I've decided to not go on Wednesdays anymore, but definitely take him to school two days a week. That is good for him. But it is not good for him to be dropped off three days in a row. He needs a day in between to play at home and rest from school.
I took him and Josiah to the park this afternoon to play. It was like Christmas for him. We hadn't been in a while, really since school has started except for once. We used to go all the time. He LOVED it! And Daddy met us there. When Jaben saw Daddy pull up in his truck he said, "My Daddy is here! He came to see me!" So sweet!
I'm am learning the healthy balance between being involved and being overly involved in activities. Jaben is helping me with this too. And for that, I am thankful.
